Crafty Boots - the Last Days of Summer

Hello, and welcome to another Crafty Boots challenge.  This time, Freya would like us to make something that remind you of the Last Days of Summer....

I took an MDF door plaque (Paperartsy) and gave it two coats of Snowflake Fresco paint, before adding blues (Ice Blue, Bora Bora and a little Beach Hut) and greens (Sage, Hey Pesto and a little Limelight) blending, sanding and adding more paint till I was happy (ish)

I painted both sides, and then used the meadow stamp from Paperartsy HP1005 and a taller similar looking stamp from Inkadinkadoo  (set called Delicate Branches) stamping in black archival ink, pressing well on the wood to get a good impression.

I did this both sides.
For the front, I took a piece of tissue paper, stamped the sentiment from Paperartsy HP1007.  I painted the reverse with translucent Fresco paints (Beach Hut and Limelight) using just a very little paint, so it would blend in with the plaque, and stuck it to the wood with Fresco Satin Glaze, adding some over the top to help seal it.

Used a couple of birds (memory box die) that my friend BJ gave me - but I think I must buy this die for myself, as they are SOOOO cute!!

I left the back fairly simple...

Check out the rest of the Crafty Boots DT pieces, they are fabulous!

  6. I'm down off the table now Helen to come look at your gorgeous door hanger. Love the colours and I am right that those birds are a die, if so I 'need' it.
