Portfoleo brights - journal page

Yesterday's treat from Linda for the Paperartsy challenge, was a journal page using Portfoleo Pastels- bright bright bright!  I didn't have a chance to tackle this challenge until this evening - but here is my offering!

ok, so you start by adding colour to the page - in hindsight I think I could have gone more blocky ...

Blended and black scribble added, random stencilling.
Forgot to take a picture after the main image was stamped, before I started scribbling in white pen... and could have been a bit more careful where I stamped the image, to avoid the scribble through the face!  However, this was quite fun, next time I will just go with the flow rather than try and think it through so much! I kept stopping and starting and checking back to Linda's original (which is gorgeous!!)  thanks, Linda for another inspiring piece.

  1. Wow isn't it amazing to look at your first photo and see how it's transformed into your final. I love how the pastels blend so easily and flow into each other.

I don't think you've overworked it and I actually love how the black line goes over the face, adds character.

To me the white pen somehow makes the colours pop even more!!!

    Great job - Sam xxx

  8. Fabulous page...I love that you showed the step by steps!
My grandaughter wants to start an art journal. She is only 6 1/2 so needs step by step to understand and too young for a course.

I always think someone could make a tidy little business teaching kids these type of things! Especially if theyscheduled them over a week long art day camp, during spring break, summer holidays etc.

I digress...she has been asking me a few times if I know what to show her yet...and I had no idea up to now. We have art pastels, all cardmakers uppplies and I guess she could use a white sharpie pen till I get her the proper white pen you used!

Well thanks for the inspiration for her first page! Eventually it will show up on her blog @ theponygirl06 teehee...I will be sure to give you credits!

Thanks for visiting me Helen...I might feature the bank of cupboard that look like pantry cupboards next week!
