Today is the day after Craft Club so there are pictures from a proper desk again. The theme was set as "Scrapbooking Christmas" but as (a) I don't scrapbook and (b) didn't have any decent pictures from Christmas to use, even in a journal instead, I just went with my art journal!!
Not only is the journal new but so is the hollyhocks stencil I've used on one of the pages (new to me, anyhow) It is one of Donna Downey's and I already love it!!! All I did at club, was to outline it in white pen (I took the 3 white pens I own, and used them all! The one that worked best here was one designed for work on fabric.
I had also sprayed the first page with greens and yellow, and done some stencilling here too, but all I added was some solid leaves - didn't have the right things with me to add to this one!
And I was also working on one of the last pages in my other book, with Fresco paint - I just added the stamping at club - the new Jo Firth-Young stamp set that arrived on Tuesday - so it needed inking..... me likey this set, a lot!
This is longer than it should be for a WOYWW post, so I'll leave it here, and let you get hopping round the world. See you soon!
Glad you don't scrap Helen as it means we get to see these delectable pages in your journals. I am not a pink person but I love that page. Is it more cerise would you say (which is maybe why I like it so much).
ReplyDeleteHave a great week - love, Neet 11 xx

I absolutely LOVE Dyan Reavely and Donna Downey. Great job on the journal pages. I bought one of Dyan's new art journals, but have not started in it yet. In fact, I think I have a Donna Downey journal too that hasn't been started. Too funny!!
ReplyDeleteI am a friend of Sandee. Hope you get a chance to check out my blog.

Wow, Helen, your pages are stunning! I especially love the hollyhocks one. What a gorgeous stencil, and such colours! I haven't used my Dylusions inks for a while - must get them out again soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment about my Zentangles - I am so enjoying making up my new album which will be much easier to use for reference than my old one. It's fun drawing each card and trying to make them as decorative as possible.
Hope it has inspired you to take up tangling again! I've been enjoying it so much while languishing on the recliner - so nice to have found something I can do when I'm not up to sitting at my desk.
The craft show is on 24th. I missed the last one, and can't wait to go to a show again! I adore shows!
Happy WOYWW,

Love your journal pages! Three white pens - a girl after my own heart! So far have resisted that journal but feel myself weakening! Chris#87 ps the film was very long but the time passed quite quickly!
ReplyDeleteYou made great use of the time, Helen, these pages are amazing. I love the green one with the overhanging leaves. It's funny isn't it, I scrapbook and you don't, you journal and although I'd love to I struggled with the bit I tried. We need to swap notes....at the crop maybe.

Helen--I don't think I have scrapbooked for four or five years! Yet I have all these supplies--so when I got hooked on art journaling, I was so happy that it's an anything-goes kind of place where I can use pretty supplies, or a piece of oatmeal packaging! No rules! Your work is so beautiful today though...I LOVE seeing your art journal pages, as always. Even though I don't live on your side of the ocean, I'm excited about the crop too! I need to be skyped in for a bit so I can say hi to everyone that day! Hugs dearest! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #104
ReplyDeleteYour journal art is really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteApryl H #9
Lovely journal pages and i think my favourite is the green one, which is odd because I don't do a lot of green anything but with those bursts of lettering in orange it really pops!! Annette #37

Fab work there Helen, and such vibrant colours. I can't make 1st June, sob, sob :(
ReplyDeleteBelated Happy WOYWW, I got sidetracked yesterday, hugs, Di xx #32
I know exactly what you mean about Christmas photos - it seems to take so long doing everything else the camera gets forgotten! Only my sister is organised enough to take snaps (could be something to do with it being a new camera!) Anyway, LOVE your journalling. Beautifully put together and glorious colours. Thanks for dropping by, hugs Jenny #35
ReplyDeletefab page lobve the colours a treat for the eyes ..i lov them your stencils are great thanks for visiting and have a great week hugs andrea #67
ReplyDeleteYour pages are scrumptious. Fab colours and composition. A real treat for the eyes, and you so much for visiting me; I hope you still like the skull after I've glittered it!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Rachel
I agree with Neet, my eye was immediately drawn to the pinky one, although I loved all the others too. The blue one is very restful. Do you do all this on the floor? I could not craft on the floor, there is too much stuff dumped there. Thanks for your visit and have a good week. xx Maggie #32
ReplyDeleteHello Helen, lots of beautiful and colourful pages, especially the green one - wow! I have still to embrace art journaling - scrapping being my thing - but that doesn't stop me admiring others. Thanks for sharing - as always I enjoyed reading your post. Elizabeth x #69
