WOYWW? issue 94

Hi, peeps, how ya'doin?

Another week has flown by, and it's time for another world-wide ogle at the craft spaces of the world, organised so well by head monitor, Julia.

This week on my desk, I have my "journal" that I bought on Saturday (see yesterday's post) but a few hours ago it wasn't going to look that way at all - THIS was the space I laughingly call my "desk" :

 normal view
temporary move to the left (I thought I had taken one of the space created)
and pile it up -   because this time last week, Virgin Media (who supply my phone, internet and tv) managed to connect a new customer to MY phone number.... and I had no phone... luckily the internet  wasn't affected - can you imagine being blog-less or twitter-less for a WEEK?
They tried to tell me it was a crossed line - me, with no line at all... anyhow, eventually today it's sorted.
They have to bill me for the calls Mr X made - £43 worth, to the States -- and then recredit me - why they can't just not show them, is a question worth asking but with no answer!
Still, a very nice engineer came today and fixed it.
His visit necessitated me moving all the stuff in pic one on the floor, out of the way so he could get behind the TV to the phone socket....

And this is a little extra, for putting up with me boring you  - my boxes of tags (unused, far end) small pads of paper, Craftwork Cards bits and pieces, and grungeboard (actually, that box is out of frame)  One of the comments I got last week, was that as there are so many new WOYWWers now, I should start going round the boxes again for you!!  We'll see! The Ikea boxes in the background of this pic house some of my many, many, many stamps!
So I'll let you go on your way - happy desking!

  8. What a bloomin' nightmare! Makes me smile the way they deal with the money side of things - not your fault but you stand the cost to begin with?
Anyway, at least the engineer was nice - guess that made up for things a little.
Thanks for sharing your (ahem) busy desk Helen.

  11. What a bother for you to have to move all that for the engineer.... glad it was worth it but how inefficient of Virgin media. You should have compensation, so just send them those pics to show what you had to go through!!!
I always think I have too much until I see evidence like this of someone else's stash!
    thanks for your lovely message,

  21. The number of storage drawers is amazing! And I love the subtlety of your artwork Helen - big, bright and messy is not always best, is it? Calm and contained does it for me (except for the latest scrapbox!)

    Short & sweet this week

  24. Crossed line my arm...and then having to shift all your stuff, argh. I would quite like to own a box full of tags, yessir. I wonder when my obsession for officey stuff will ever wear off!!

  25. What is it with phone companies? When they mess it up, it's never simple!

That is one fabulous pile of crafty stash though!!

  26. Very intense desk you have there. I have had limited time to be on the Internet this week, and struggled with that - I'd be in a manic panic if my access was totally cut off. Let's face it, we're all addicted.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I am ... speechless rofl... how do you manage working on the floor??? Tis lovely to see all those gorgeous stashy bits you have... and yep, let's see those boxes again!! Hoping that Virgin sort out the bill for you - that is utterly ridiculous that you have to pay it first.. hope you get some compo for that you know... the inconvenience of not having t'internet alone is worth a couple of free months I reckon ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  28. what a load of bollards - you do not require a visit for a number change, reinstatement or reallocation,

    they allocate numbers remotely,

they must have done a physical disconnect to require a physical reconnect.

During that time you were not the owner of the number - and they/you can prove it - ask them if they think the ombusman would agree that you have to pay another persons bill because of a supplier hitch.

Also what will your supplier be doing to compensate you for loss/interruption of service, inconvenience, and the rudeness of their approach?

Also there are better service providers that you are entitleed to move to if they force you to pay the bill (after they have recompensed you)

Or you can pay up and let them get away with it....

I personally would also blame them for the mess and demand they send round fairies to tidy up...

    Dx

  32. So much fun stuff there to play with. Love the phone companies eh? Such nonsense!

  33. I had something similar, (sort of) I ordered something but they added my old order to the list, and charged me for it, and said when I get it send it back and they would pay me back my postage, this is something that hadn't left the factory! I said forget it then, and they said, oh, ok, when you get it send it all back and we'll refund the postage and the goods if you don't open them! Talk about a screw loose!! Your crafty space looks fab to me...I really hate mine this week!! I'm really a long way down as there wasn't any Mr Linky and I had to go to work...so you'll find me..
    here! Happy WOYWW!!

  37. Wow, that's a lot of moving to do -you should send a bill to Virgin for the time and effort! No way could I work on the floor, would never get up again!

    Happy WOYWW!!

  38. Ooh dont start me on Virgin - the trouble I have had with them - if you get stuck I do have the CEO's blackberry number somewhere from the complaining I eventually did!

  45. Very very busy and creative work space. I hate to hear of phone troubles I know they are one big bother but like you I would rather it is the phone and not my internet access! Thanks for sharing. Vickie #162

  46. Wow, that's a pain in the arse! Is the Virgin phone company the same as Virgin records and the airlines? Just wondering. Happy WOYWW :-)

  47. Always interesting to have a snoop around your "desk".... I am not really sure do you craft on the floor because you like to or you have so much stash the house is full and you don't have space for a desk! Ha, ha out with the truth now girl!
    Lots of hugs,
    Cardarian

    ReplyDelete
  48. P.s.: I wouldn't trust them to take the money and then give it back! These days you never know so be careful with that paying! I don't get it that they can't bill him directly! Seems a bit fishy to me....

  49. Oh so many wonderful things to play with. Love all the storage drawers!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I am constantly amazed at everyone's workspace. But considering what you have been through with the phone co. it all makes sense.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I don't think I can be at the right place as I don't see any brand new stash!!! Refuse to pay the bill, or tell them you want at least 25% interest per day that they hold you money for before re-crediting you, I wouldn't trust them as far as I can throw them!!

    hugs
    Brenda 84

PS. What do people who haven't been to your place say when tehy see all your stuff??

    ReplyDelete
  52. Such incompetence and they are making YOU pay for it - I think you might be able to claim compensation for loss of service - worth checking with Trading Standards, after all you have been put to more than a little inconvenience and you've got to put all your crafty stuff back again. Hope your week gets better. Elizabeth x #27

  53. You have to admit - that's a classy cock-up even by Virgin Media's standards!!

  54. I thought things loke that pnly happens in Africa. I feel a whole lot better now knowing that the rest of the world has to put up with things like that tpp. LOL
I would be very angry if that happened to me, no wait.... it has happened to me! Well not the giving my line to somebodu else bit, but I have been without a landline for 5 whole months!!! Lucky for them my internet still works, otherwise there is no knowing what I would have done.
    Happy belated WOYWW

  55. How awful, something certainly sounds fishy if they had to send ann engineer around. I am so loving all of your crafty stash, i could spend hours looking at all your crafty yumminess lol.

  56. A desk after my own heart!! I just can't work in "uncluttered!" Good luck with your phone, my Brother had a similar issue with Vonage--had to get the police involved as he was getting threatening calls from the person whose stuff was assigned to his number!
