WOYWW 95

Another week gone by - time to report to head girl Julia for desk inspection!

What there should have been on my desk is some new toys but at the time of writing this they haven't arrived! You'll have to wait and see.... suffice it to say, Tim Holtz and dies....

Instead, are a couple of cards I've made - one for a challenge (see Tuesday's post) and one for one of my nephew's birthday although I was about to have got the date wrong and sent it days too early.... oops!
Oh, well, it's ready for next week.  (Should have made my Mother's Day card tonight instead then...)
The birdcage and it's support are both dies from Tim - the support is the post for the hanging sign die, and I pinched this idea from someone I saw do the same thing - sorry, I can't give you credit as I don't remember where I saw this now!  I used liberal amounts of perfect pearl sprays and distress inks.

Several people ask what I do with all my tags - well, apart from a few that made it to the corkboard in my hallway, the rest sit in this shoebox!!  It's reached a dangerous state at the moment, every now and then the top ones slide off!

Phone update - all sorted - refund of the call cost set against my account ready for the next statement (which in theory means the two sides will cancel one another out - I hope!)   Phone working ok!!

Eye update - you may remember that back in November I experienced a loss of vision which resulted in scans, poking and prodding and such like.  Well, last Friday was the long awaited referral to the neuro consultant chappy at the eye hospital - and it's good news (some of you have already seen that post last week) - the vision is improving (the diagnosis I had at the time, was not correct - that was a condition that doesn't improve and now I am told normally affects people a lot older with other health issues!!) but at least things are improved!!

At the weekend, I - and several other bloggers - had some problems with blogger not uploadng photos although they seemed to be there - I started a help forum and the blogger people have sorted it - you do NOT have to change browser.  If any of you are affected, here is the link to tell you what to do to the affected posts.
Now, off to check out the other desks - I visited lots of you last week, but I am sorry, I didn't always manage to leave a comment, naughty I know, but..... I was there!

  13. Oh that's me, flying in but not able to comment all the time. I don't have a box full of tags like yours, but I have resorted to 'doctoring' a few and using them on cards when erm, time challenged. Like my mother's day card for this weekend. Shhh.

  20. LOL! I think we need a sort of offshoot WOYWW - let's call it Maybe I'll Finish it One Day Monday (MIFIODM - how's that for an acronym?) as in my tidying I am def. unearthing projects that are way too old and need finishing. I had planned on photo ing them to try to shame myself into finishing them - I wonder how many of us are in the same state!?

  25. That birdcage has to be the most popular TH item ever.

  26. That is good news about your eyes, Helen. You must be so relieved. My eyes are affected by MS and it isn't much fun.

Those tags so need a new home - how about - if you can bear the expense - one of those postcard or first day cover albums from WHSmith's? You can also buy just refills so you could customise the whole thing to suit a crafter's needs/look.

thanks for letting me see your desk!

  28. Thanks Helen for your early visit to me and your kind comments. Thank you also for trying to sort out the picture problems with blogger. Like many others, it has sent me demented over this last weekend, and even yesterday, I had trouble uploading, trying to do it both through Picasa and direct. I have tried Firefox and IE. I often cannot see pictures from others, so change browsers to view the pictures. Glad to hear that your eye problems are improving somwehat.

  29. Hi Helen - lovely man cards (I mean lovely cards, but I'm sure the chaps are great too - LOL!). Thanks for saying the bird/cage were from Tim. I've seen them elsewhere and would love to get hold of them. You look like one very busy, creative lady! Thanks for popping by & I'm glad your eyes are better.

  31. I think tags can be just as pretty as cards and are more novel in a way than sending a card. Love the bird cage. I thought it was a Tim Holtz die cut. Have seen it on other blogs one today in fact and wondered if it was. Now know where to get it from. Thanks for providing the info. Hugs Mrs A. #16

  34. Wow Helen look at all those tags, you could make a journal with those to have them as a keepsake of techniques. Great news about your vision. Enjoy your day. Tracy x

  35. So glad to hear the vision is getting better! As crafters, what would we do if we couldn't see? The thought often scares me.

I LOVE the caged bird die, and I love what you did with it!

    Happy woyww, Sandy #120.

  36. Wow i love the card your working on and what a fab idea for the sign and the birdcage. Good news about the eye at least its improving, it must have been awful at the time worrying and having all those tests. I had the blogger problem but did find the forum you started so it helped knowing that others were having the same problem. Loving all those tags, you could do with starting a tag swap (instead of a atc swap!!!) Im sure lots would join in but doh that means you would get more back lol. You could make bunting out of them all and hang them around your craft room. Xx

  37. Love the bird cage but not as much as all your good news with the phone and your vision. Happy WOYWW!
