I have recently become addicted to Donna Downey's blog - so much so that I think I want to start journalling - Carmen was kind enough to say she thought I'd be good at it - but I don't really know where to start - although I suppose buying some kind of blank journal would be a good place!! Watch this space, as they say! Not sure how this amazing blog has escaped me for so long!
If you are one of the last people in blogland who doesn't know why I'm showing you my workspace check out the rest here at Julia's!. Have a fab time trekking the universe for some strange places to craft!
Looks like some nice stash there, this is the problem with Woyww its makes your wish list grow lol ~ Nicky
ReplyDeleteYou will enjoy journaling! You can use all your stash in your journal too, which is the best part. Happy WOYWW! #19
ReplyDeleteHave fun with all those crafty bits !Happy Creative wednesday

I love poppies so can understand you having to buy that gorgeous stamp.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done a journal page for a long time, must pop over and see what you are telling us about DD's blog (thanks for the link). From what I see on the subject there seems to be many different styles - mine tends to be an art journal with rubber stamping and not kind of creative writing that journals how i feel or anything.
Good luck with it anyway - it's all about enjoying what we do.
Nothing like some new goodies to get you in the mood to craft!
ReplyDeleteFab new stamps.

Collage stamps are so clever but how they are used is the most interesting part - enjoy yours!

Awesome stash! I love new papers and stamps. Thanks for sharing. Vickie #52
ReplyDeleteI love your new collage and calligraphy stamp! And thanks for pointing out Donna Downey's blog- it's great. As to the art journalling- just do it, there isn't any right way or wrong way, just YOUR way! Patsy from

ReplyDeleteYou're incorrigible! Or more like, encourageable! Fab stash - nice one with the freebie! Thanks for stopping by....
ReplyDeleteI did say, an aahhh could not be resisted. Thank you for your lovely comment.
ReplyDeleteI think that poppy stamp is great, just the sort of stamp I would go for. Sadlyt, I have maxed out my craft allowance for the next couple of months at least. Never mind, I have plenty to play with.
I do love a little spend when things just jump into your basket as extra bargains, hehe! Jo (53) xxx
ReplyDeleteLove your new stamps. I really liked Donna when I took a class with her on the Prima booth at CHA.
ReplyDeleteIf you fancy journalling just go for it. Every piece of art starts with a blank canvas of some sort and the style should be your own so just use blogs as inspiration.
Thanks for your lovely words on mine!

How cool to get freebies!

P.S. You're darned right...I did not throw the Vagabond box out!!! HOL

ReplyDeleteWow Helen your new stamps are really great design what fun playing could be had.. very large too, mm hard when you run out of ez mount!! I want to order some myself as getting low but Joanna where I get from does not have it at present.still waiting.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing and happy WOYWW

OOoooo Love those new stamps! I have discovered a great product Tack'n'Peel you stick it to the acrylic block and the stamps cling to that...gonna save me a fortune not having to ezmount all my new stamps!
ReplyDeleteDo not do not show me any more stamps that you have but really should belong to me!! Lovely haul, the papers from CI are smashing, huh. As for Donna Downey...isn't that odd...she leaves me cold. BUT...I think Carmen's right, and I think you will be an inspiring journal artist.
ReplyDeleteLoving your choice of stamps. I saw some nice ones on Crafty Individuals website but will have to wait until PD before I dare order anything else! I use a sticky adhesive that you stick on your block and is permanent but makes your stamps like a clingon! I cant remember exactly what it is called but it is from Snazzys. Brilliant as it saves having to remember to order anything like ez mount!Once on it stays on and can be cleaned!

Love your stamps. Crafty Individuals are high on my favourites list.
ReplyDeleteHaven't done much journalling, but a couple of tips I picked up have helped me with what I have done: don't start on the first page of the book - just jump in anywhere; and just do it - work quickly without a lot of thinking about it.
Marilyn
Those Crafty Individual stamps are so addictive. I ordered their birdcage at the weekend but didn't spot the poppies. Darn!! That's another order in the pipeline. hugs Mrs A. #57
ReplyDeleteHaahaahaa...looks like somebody did some shopping! Have fun w/it all.
ReplyDeleteLovely stamps. I think you will be great at journaling too.
ReplyDeleteNothing like some new stash to get the creative juices flowing and you can use all those stamps and things on your journal pages too! Annette #5
ReplyDeletecan't blame you, those two stamps in front are fantastic! i'm off to visit Donna's blog. i too would like to start journalling. for now i'm trying it out on ATCs
ReplyDeleteThanks for the the view and sharing, hugs Marjo#10
ReplyDeleteLove your stamps!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, have a nice day!!
Beautiful stamps - I, too, consider journaling every so often, but never seem to be able to keep it up once I start. Like anything you are meant to do regularly, it takes a while to incorporate it into your life, to make time for it, and get into the routine of doing it every day. I'm just not that organized :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun with it.
Mary Anne
Glossing over the new purchases with Ally Pally so close (am just jealous! *g*)
ReplyDeleteI do really think your journal will be a feast for the eyes. I still have your card up on display, it's gorgeous.

Thank you for joining the DT from Simon Says Stamp and Show with your wonderfull Stars creation. wowzerss love the colors and your stars are great. Hugs Terry xxx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous new stamps there. Beware of the journaling; it's deeply addictive!

I think everyone's good at journalling, as long as they don't try to journal like other people. Embrace your style and remember that a journal doesn't have to be perfect. And a journal doesn't have to be a book: why not grab a box and "journal" on anything that takes your fancy, storing all your fab stuff in the box. Just a thought.
