I hope you are all surviving the heat in the UK -it is too much for me. Time to meet Sarah and the girls for another WOYWW to see what we've been up to..
the boiler finally got replaced... glad it was last week and not this. they would have passed out in the loft. It was bad enough then!
I cut the flowers out
and used some on a birthday card for my cousin who's birthday is the day before mine.
Kew was another lovely visit on Saturday but no blue tits feeding on hands (the photo I shared was of Kim not me, MaryAnne, I couldn't do that one-handed!!)
close up of a "Henry" love the patinaand the rich sunflowers
ickle spider!
I'm too hot to write anything else witty this week, will wish you a happy WOYWW and collapse in front of the fan again...
(it's Tuesday evening as I prep this)

I feel for you so much, being in an un-airconditioned office must be so trying. My eldest son is in Wokingham and is suffering like you, we bought him an air-con unit a few years back and it’s earning its money now. It’s bad enough here but we’re a couple of degrees cooler than you with a bit of a sea breeze..roll on the weekend when temps are dropping by ten degrees or so!
ReplyDeleteThat’s a lot of fussy cutting you did but it was worth it, the card is lovely. Happy Birthday for Friday btw!

Dashing around quick before the heat builds...
ReplyDeleteYeah the heat is unreal. Love the fussy cut flowers (I love fussy cutting!) and that patina could be sold as a printable - it's so yummy!
Happy far, FAR too hot WOYWW

Those flowers are beautiful. I quite like fussy cutting myself, I think once I mastered it that is. It's a nightmare trying to work without air conditioning, several schools have had to close, just pleased the children have more or less finished their exams. Happy woyww with hugs Angela x8x
ReplyDeleteLets hope it's a little cooler very soon and we can all stay cool and hydrated.
ReplyDeleteHugs,

So glad you got your boiler sorted - you will be glad of it later in the year but maybe not just now🤣 Your fussy cutting was well worth the effort- your card is beautiful. x x Jo 🌈
ReplyDeleteHello Helen, yes it's hot here too. Glad you got your new boiler at last. I live in the ground floor flat and can just imagine what it must be like in the flat above - even hotter. Your finished flowers are gorgeous and I love the card. Happy WOYWW. Enjoy the weekend at Kew but stay cool. Hugs Elizabeth x #10
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday for Friday, Helen! I’m glad your new boiler went in, finally. I’ve worked in offices like yours, it’s horrible. I use a scarf with cooling beads inside, you soak it, wring it out and it’s cool on the back of your neck.
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely and the Kew photos are great. I couldn’t get over that cheeky fox!
Stay cool and happy WOYWW
Hugs

I love that last photograph of the flower and spider! It would make a great subject for a drawing too. Stay cool and happy WOYWW!
ReplyDeleteYour Kew photographs are wonderful.. perfect reflections, I looked up Helenium and laughed when it said they were call Sneezeweed. Did they make you sneeze? I would be almost jumping up and down with excitement if a fox came that close - yes I know, scare him away in the process! Keep cool, hugs Angela
ReplyDeleteI think it goes without saying that I am really struggling with this heat. Even with the air-con 24/7 in my craft/bedroom the temp has climbed up to 24 degrees today and at that temperature I stop functioning at the best of times. The rest of the house is way hotter so I'm only leaving my room for food/drink and very quick bathroom breaks today. Roll on Sunday and hopefully a break in the weather. Saw you were on-line in the early hours this morning - I was up from 3am-5am having felt awful after collecting car from service yesterday afternoon. I'm trying to drink lots but don't drink much at the best of times so that is a struggle for my stomach too. Glad to hear the boiler is done at last although air-con would be more appropriate at the moment LOL.

ooh happy birthday and thats some fussy cutting with those flowers, good luck in the heat at Kew (and lets not mention the expensive cake and coffee) ;-) Kyla
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Helen. Hope you are surviving the heat somehow. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah
