WOYWW 882

Welcome again for another Wednesday desk share - with Sarah for WOYWW

I treated myself to some new Paperartsy stamps last week

I got them from Stampers Grove as usual, superb service - more so because I managed to add 2 of one of them to my basket, but rather than just sending them, James messaged me to check and then offered to refund the payment.

All that and sent within a day, and when he was about to come down to London to run in the Marathon on Sunday.

I carried on with the previous journal pages I'd been working on
the face is another piece cut out of the Paperartsy tissue

I did however forget that the background was Distress Oxides, so of course when I added matte medium to the reverse to clue it down, the face turned yellow...and that was after I'd gesso'd it.

still, it looks a bit funky (if jaundiced!)
I stamped and laboriously fussy cut two of the berry branches from the background - not something I'll be doing often, I can assure you... I did cut off some of the branches as they were too fiddly.

Saturday was gorgeous at Kew

the swans were in attendance again

the tulips under the (now finished blossoming) cherry trees were looking good, the earlier white variety have finished so it looks bit empty.

Friday is 1st May (how!)  but which  delightfully sees the start of Kew's member early entry at 8am -   I have booked a long weekend round the Bank Holiday to get in an extra visit to enjoy the early light - hoping the showers now forecast, wil wait till I leave...

I hope you are all keeping well or at least recovering!  Happy WOYWW.

  1. It's good to hear about great service. It's so often the other way these days so well done to James. I love your artwork this week and I really don't mind the jaundice 😀. Enjoy your long weekend - hope it's sunny for Kew.x x Jo 🌈

  2. James is such a great guy, I often wonder how he does it when other compnaies that live closer take weeks to even dispatch the goods. Love the new pages and I think the face actually worked out really well. It's interesting what happens when you least expect it. Have a great woyww. Hugs Angela x9x

  3. That was excellent service, so nice when that happens these days! Great new stamps and I like the yellow face, it tones well with the rest of the page. Have fun at the earlier opening of Kew, look forward to seeing the pics 🥰🥰

  4. Well done James at Stampers Grove! It’s good to hear of excellent service. Your journal pages are great and I think the face works well.
I love your Kew photos, especially the single swan looking down into the weeds. The tulips are glorious, too.
I hope the stinky giant holds off flowering till next Saturday.

  6. LOL! I was ready to ask where the face came from but you answered - I just had to read a bit further. Early Entry sounds helpful - no competition for that perfect shot... Happy a-bit-better WOYWW!

  9. Just to let you know that next week's WOYWW will be a celebration of Neet (RIP) so if you wanted to put any pictures you have of her on your blog too that would be lovely. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah

  10. I too ah e had that sort of service from James and really appreciate it, often thought that he must have a lot of energy to be running around after customers like me, and you tell me he was set to run the London…well done him, huh! I like to face on the page, didn’t even think of jaundice, it sort of just part of the page!
Will keep my fingers crossed for you being a shower dodger this weekend, enjoy!
