WOYWW 443 - more Christmas cards..

Welcome back for another Wednesday round up at WOYWW - who stole November?  Cannot quite believe that it's December on Friday!!

I am still slowly slowly making Christmas cards... so many still to do.
I took them down to count them up this morning and check the list... I've booked a few days off work at the start of next week to try and get them finished!!

the pile may look large but there are only about 32 there...   and I have half a tissue masterboard I've been using for some backgrounds

I was looking for a snowflake stencil to add another layer to the masterboard.. but the one I have (the original Dylusions snowflake stencil) has all different sizes and they're all too big... I have like a gazillion stencils and you never have the one you want!!  (I have ordered another one now!)

I've done a mixture of designs - I get bored doing the same ones over and over - but I am still loving the grumpy penguins I got last year so have been doing quite a few with them.

Hopefully by next week they'll all be done... then comes the "fun" bit of writing them!!  Have to admit that is not my favourite bit...
Till then, happy desk hopping.

  1. Adorable little cards you've shared. I have yet to start that. I usually make a yearly letter and make copies to include with the card. Maybe a few personal notes at the bottom. I surely don't know how time goes by so fast. Have a fun week.

  4. Well done you on the cards already made and taking time off to make the rest, now that's dedication. I'm not making any this year, but you might have guessed that. Well not for the masses, just some special ones if I ever get around to it. Have to say, I'M UP but the sun definitely isn't!!! BJ#4

  5. Happy WOYWW. Great cards and such dedication to the crafty god of Christmas cards! I might make one for hubby, but otherwise I have bought some fab cow design ones by an artist I love and also assorted charity cards. I try to post on 1st December, so had better get on with writing them out! Ali x #7

  7. Well done you with all your card making...I like the penguin ones too. I’m afraid to say I can no longer write all my cards because of my arthritis so print off my message inserts now...but they do all get a homemade card so I have to be satisfied with that. Have fun making the rest of your cards.
    Hugs,

  11. If you're making some similar to the ones you made last year, might you not send the same cards to some recipients? Just asking! :^) Grumpy penguins sounds funny! Penguins are usually caricatured to be so friendly!!! :^) patsy

  13. Hi Helen, totally agree, no matter how many of something you have, it's never quite the right size/shape for what you are doing! Irritating. Loving the cards, Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #18 XxX

  14. Hope that card making remains delightful and doesn't feel too much like a chore! So much is expected of makers at Christmas, I delivered all my handmades when I came over to the Uk in Nov - the postage here is too expensive to mail out greetings, and I am ashamed to say I don't miss the production line card making!!!! much love Donna 26

  15. The grumpy penguins are indeed very cute! Love them! 32 cards is a lot, compared to the barely 25 that I'm making! And I'm not even done yet! You can never have too many stencils! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #27

  17. I can so sympathise with the 'loving' writing the cards - bit like wrapping the pressies, much more fun opening them!!
    Strength to your elbow....
    Have a good week

  18. Oh my, I love those penguin cards. You sure have done an amazing job! And you're right about having a ton of one thing but not having the right one for the particular job. I feel that way with cardstock. I'll have a ton of hues of blue but not the right one for the layout I'm working on. LOL Have a wonderful week! Dorlene #28

  19. You’re giving me that creeping feeling of not having enough!! Mind, I haven’t worked as hard as you on mine, no masterboards type creations I’m afraid! as for the stealing of the month....I know, it’s just gone *pouf* really!

  20. I adore those penguins - there could never be too many of them! - and the soft green is so pretty as the background for the other little critter - gorgeous masterboard. I hope the next snowflake stencil works for you. I think the Tim Holtz one is pretty good.

  21. Hi Helen. I've fallen in love with your penguins! I generally have about 50 Christmas cards to send, so I need to get my skates on. I have a hospital appointment next week, so have booked a day off work. I can use the rest of the day for crafting! Yay! Have a lovely week, Heather #30

  25. Enjoy your time off! I swear, every time I check my list, it has grown 1 or 2 more names! I agree, I need a few different designs, I think I have 6 new ones this year, plus filled in with some old quick and easy ones from the craft show stock. I love those penguins! Who made those?
Good luck and have a great week.

  29. Not keen on writing the cards either Helen, but even worse is the envelope addressing. Used to do labels but since changing computers I don't know how to.

Love your grumpy penguins, must have a look at them online.

Had to smile at you buying a new stencil - go girl!

Hugs, & Thanks for visiting e - Neet xx 8

  30. Hi Helen, sorry for the late visit. Gorgeous cards and hope you enjoy a couple of crafting days off getting them finished. Love those cute penguins! Now in our house, I make the cards and hubby writes them, as he has much nicer handwriting. He also wraps much more neatly :o) Annie C #23

Sorry I'm so late with paying your visit back, time seems to go faster and faster these days! Have a great weekend, hug from Holland. Marit #22
