Keren - a bodge it paper cutting card

Another of Keren's projects was using the large Lynne Perrella stamp from LPC030 and involved cutting out the negative spaces... it became apparent that my craft knife must have a very blunt blade but Keren was keen to seen what it came out like, so here goes...


I have stuck it against some bright turquoise card and it does look better - but would be so much nicer with a sharp knife!!   I even when out this morning and forgot to pick up a new pack of blades...

Entering this to Keren's Paperartsy challenge!!

off to try something I will hopefully have more success with, no cutting involved, ha ha!

    I agree with Keren!I love that colour background and it looks fine to me! I want to get a sharper blade for my knife too: they do blunt very quickly. You've reminded me to do this! Julie Ann xxx

    Very cool effect.
    I try to keep new blades on hand all the time, even then it take my brain a few "toss in the trash" pieces to remember to put the "NEW" blades in. LOL

    Have read that for a perfect paper cut u need to use a new blade for each new project. I actually love the less than perfect cut look, another form of distress to add to future projects. Gorgeous colour background! :-) x

    Nothing wrong with it,I always think we are our own worse critics anyway! It's looks a tricky thing to do,blunt or sharp knife!

    Even without the new blade the cuts look pretty good to me. Anyway I haven't got the guts to try but you did! Pat on the back I think...

    It looks pretty good, you could highlight the rough edges by rubbing a little ink/paint on them or TG. Make a feature of them rather than try and hide them.

    Very cool - and there's something very nice about the added texture from the slightly ragged edges... love the vivid blue peeking through!

    I used the same stamp and it was really, really hard! One of my friends has great knife skills and I was going to bribe her to do it for me but she was sick! She used to work with knives! It was easier to poke a hole in and use scissors!

    I'm useless with a craft knife sharp or otherwise Helen to I applaud your effort which looks wonderful to me. Great how the coloured card behind makes is pop!
