WOYWW 212 - the birthday edition!

Happy WOYWW to you all - week 212. Today happens to be my birthday and I am off work - the redundancy finally got sorted out (not that I've received the settlement money yet) and I finished last week - well, technically on 30th June but I had some holiday owed to me.   Luckily, I start a new job next Monday and I can't wait.

As several of you know, the last year has been somewhat stressful for a variety of work-related issues but I feel sure that the path ahead will be a happy one! To those of you that have offered support in a variety of ways, (emotional mainly) I thank you.

Anyway, you've come to see my desk.. Well, I had to treat myself to a few little presents... yes??

some stencils, stamps paper paint and stickers. (for journalling)

I have been spending this week mainly watching the tennis from Wimbledon - it's only a few miles from where I live, but apart from the fact that tickets are so hard to come by, this way I can see loads of matches at once!!   But I have also had a bit of a tidy up!!!!!!  Made some more space at the computer (still not got a satisfactory seat, but you can't have it all) by moving some magazines to the other room and pushing back the boxes that used to crowd me in.  It looks very different to me anyway!

I really need a proper height table for my computer, then I could have a normal chair to sit on it at, instead of this silly stool with cushions!

I've been working on home-made tapes for a Paperartsy challenge (see yesterday's post)

and this was the arial view on Monday night (Craft Barn Alpha challenge in progress)

I could get used to this being at home lark, I have had a really relaxing time so far this week.

I'll do my best, in between cake and celebrating, to get round as many of you as I can!!

  20. Hi Helen, good to hear the job situation has been sorted out - you can "breathe" now - we are going through a "realignment" right now - so many variations on the redundancy word hey!! Anyhoo - if I am made redundant hopefully it will get rid of the mortgage and I can then focus on what I want to do... sorry rambling - love your goodies - have a great break before the new job... What's the best thing to do with redundancy money? Treat yourself! Good for you. Glad you got another job - my son was made redundant in March and still cannot get any work.
Just a thought, but if you can't find a desk (too expensive also) what about sawing a bit off the legs of an old chair. it could be a great 'altered art project'.
Take care, have a good creative week - Hugs, Neet 13 xx - and thanks for visiting me earlier

  38. Brilliant news on the job front, things are looking up, a few days at home, a new job to go to, and a payout coming your way at some point. You could use a bit of that to get a little desk for yourself, there's a thought! I could seriously get used to the being at home lark too, one day, one day! I can see that you've tidied up and I also believe in little presents after stress too!!

  42. A very Happy Birthday, and, glad to hear things are looking up a little on the job front! :)

Thanks for popping by and leaving a comment. I really do appreciate them.

My work actually 'migrated' to the dining table last week, because it was simply too big for my craft desk. Had to move back though because I have a visitor this week and need the table for it's proper use !

Take care and many apologies for the late visit.

I don't have time to revisit a post for an answer either, so I rarely ask a question in the comments.
I do find it useful to be able to answer others if I can and I suspect most people are the same and don't go back. Thanks for stopping by yesterday. I'm having a catch up today. Good luck in the new job x
