WOYWW? 190

Well, here we are - covered in snow for large parts of the UK. It started on Friday and is still here!
This was my poor little rose struggling on, on Monday!
And a bit of an arty shot through my Escallonia (it's pretty in spring/summer!)  We have had a partial thaw since then, so the rose is now bare again!

But, you came for my desk....this is meant to be What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday, after all!

This is a reject tag background for a Paperartsy challenge - it was all right till I stamped on it!!!
This was me on Tuesday afternoon (got home early, before dark and the snow came back!!) - tweeting as usual!

So, I hope you are all ok in the snow if you have it - it always causes havoc in the UK because we don't cope - not having much regularly, there is no real money put aside to plan for it and everything seems to grind to a halt!  Anyhow, I hope you are safe! Enjoy desk hopping instead...

(Come back later for a new Dragons Dream Tag it On challenge!)

  1. We still have snow here, more fell overnight after a partial thaw. Beautiful photos from you today. I would leave that background aside for a while, somewhere you can see it lots. You may get inspiration to rescue it later. Take care. xx Maggie #20

Just popping over to say Hi. I hope you have a good and creative week to follow. Nice thing about the tag is that if not happy you can just add another layer!

  11. The poor rose - I am surprised it was out as it is winter !!! Yes I guess England doesn't cope with snow very well - we do as we are use to it! I am happy though when it is gone! :-)
Will be back to see your tag!!
    Lots of hugs,

  15. Well the good thing for us crafters is that anything we think we have spoilt can be saved again by covering over in another medium. Good luck with the tag

  16. It can't be you Helen as the person is sitting at a desk. Lovely to see a rose bloom at this time of year - have had some at Christmas but never at the end of January.
Thanks for calling in on me - and the biscuits were delicious - can recommend Netto biscuits.

  19. Tuck that tag away - I bet it becomes the perfect thing one day. That ALWAYS happens to me. And your poor rose! I wasn't sure what I was looking at till I read the blurb. I thought it was a child's hat caught in a shrub! LOL!

As for the tag, just slap some more paint on it, my finished one was made up of several layers where I was trying to get the desired effect lol

  22. We have such warm beautiful days here in Australia atm but it is hard to envision snow everywhere and the cold, being locked inside. What happens to all the beautiful plants in the snow they must get damaged?

Sorry about the tag, next one will be good. You can only learn by mistakes. LOL

  24. What on earth is your rose doing attempting to flower in January anyway!! That'll teach it, lol! Lovely snowy pics but you're right, it's only great if you don't have to try and get to work in it every day. Can the tag be reused? Looks to good to chuck. I don't tweet, seriously considering deleting my FB account too, too many distractions, stops me doing real stuff!

  25. I so wish all this snow would disappear, its drives me mad that as a country they don't know how to cope with it, plus if it disappears my daughter might find her phone that she lost!!!

  26. I was going to say I didn't think you guys got that much snow! Oh my! I hope you are stocked up on essential foods, and can stay plenty warm Helen! Glad you are busy with your lovely crafting trial and errors it always is...and your tweeting. Hugs dearest. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #112

  27. Proper comment this time instead of the rubbish I sent before - sorry Helen, blame it on it being too early and no cup of tea to get the brain going!!
Had enough of this snow/cold now - your poor rose will be glad to see it go too I should imagine!
Nothing wrong with a paint over - give the tag a coat of paint/gesso and have another go!!

  28. Even though I am enjoying the sun whilst on vacation my heart is in the UK where you are all having the snow and I just hope and pray that you are all safe as you go about your daily work.
    Glad your rose survived!
Sorry about the mishap with the tag, bet you can save it with a bit of artistic licence.

  29. I would say i see a very nice background building on this tag. but if you are unhappy with it save it for a time, when you will look at it and see the potential for another project.

  30. Oh, I would cut that rose and bring it inside to enjoy, poor thing covered in snow! I am so curious about the shelves on your wall filled with minitures, what are they? Looks like you've collected quite a few of them. Snow grinds us to a halt too, but then I love being holed up with everything all white and pretty outside. Thanks for visiting my desk, waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥

  39. I think the whole of the UK got snow this time. My city near the south coast almost never gets snow because we are in a dip, but we got at least 3 inches and I made 3 snowmen! Persevere with the challenge:) Thanks for popping by, Lucy #18 x

  44. Thanks for stopping by, being #1 was unexpected, but had so many comments and when I was up so late no one to comment too. Pretty snowy rose, gosh we've had no moisture, today below zero and high winds, so had to stay inside. Dangerous cold out there. Last week we set records with 48 weired winter here.
Happy WOYWW and Enjoy the week
