Compendium 5 - distress powder

It's time for another Compendium challenge - page 43 - distress powders. Under the rules of the challenge I can't give you detailed instructions - you'll have to check the book for that.  Head on over to Studio L3 where Linda is hosting this addictive challenge, to see some more great art.

I made two tags - the first one using the owls (Simply stamps) from last week again, but this time with their big brother!  I've used vintage photo powder, stormy sky and dusty concord inks for the sky and antique linen and wild honey for the birds.

For the second tag, I used Tim's large wooden numbers stamp and broken china powder, and coloured it once "cooked" with a variety of distress inks. Apart from "imagine" which is Wendy V's, all stamps are Tim's.    The idea for this came to me whilst I was waiting for the first tag to set.       There are some great prizes on offer, so if you've got the book, give it a go!
(And for those of you who liked the flowers in the last pic, there's plenty more from Hampton Court flower show up on my other blog - click here or the fountain in the side bar)

  1. Oh, Helen, you know I LOVE that owl stamp, and now you've added another little feathered friend-- I'm beside myself! These are both spectacular! You've obviously got the Distress Powder mastered.

It's always such a joy to see your art, and right now I'm going to go back and admire your tags again!

    Hugs,

  14. Love the owls Helen, and the embossing powder does make them look like they are all fluffy LOL. How strange I have used a girl with wings for my tag, great minds. Well in my case I found the stamp by accident and had never used it tut tut. Have a good day, Tracy Evans x
