WOYWW 455

WOW! what a great weekend I had last weekend - two brilliant workshops (read about them here)  and time to explore Poole too (read about that here  - the weather was beautiful!)  and so very soon it is time for another desk hop extravaganza with Julia  (link here)

Took my desk shot from a different angle today, the stool I sit at the computer at...

You might be able to spy my set of Seth Apter embossing powders from Emerald Creek (in front of the Tim Holtz stamps
next to my scrub it mat)

I am really hoping to get to play with them soon - they came on Thursday as I was leaving for the workshops..

the journal that is open on the craft mat is my latest page for the France Papillon facebook challenge - two days or two layers behind with this one... must try and get at least one done now
My new WOYWW badge is also on the mat

I need to find somewhere to hang the face, and probably will have to mount it as the board is curving.
Standing in front of it, is a large duck I bought at Poole Quay, I used to collect ducks, but much smaller ones than this!  I can't resist a nice piece of wood, or a duck, however!

if you don't have time to read the full post about the workshops and want a closer look at the projects (I know some of you have seen them so forgive me)
I will add a couple of photos here
this was my favourite of the two, by far..

 but the altered book

(outside)
(Inside) was also great fun.

If you are looking for friendly workshops at a great price I can really recommend Brigitte at Let's Be Creative  in Rogate, Hampshire

Thanks for looking, hope you have a great week.

Can you not weight down the face until you are ready to mount it so that it straightens before it gets too bad?
I am still green every time I see this - I love it sooo much.
Thought I read your weekend post will go back and check.
Hugs and thanks for the visit earlier, Neet xx

Hi Helen, I do love that face piece you did. It's amazing. Poole is lovely I agree, not been there for some years now. Nice shot of the stash! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #8 XxX

Hi Helen, the face piece is amazing - I absolutely love it! It's a pity it's bending though - perhaps it would straighten out if it was weighted down by a few heavy books for a while. And I love the duck too - I used to collect the real thing (Lake Cayugas and a totally adorable Khaki Campbell actually). I liked Poole when, some years ago, my mother and I took a trip there. We visited Poole Pottery then. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #25

Ah so that's what you were up to, not quite "with it" here obviously. I do like the face but to be honest I LOVE the altered book, having done one myself I'm a bit biased there. Love the different angle on things this week too. Thanks for the visit BJ#4

I'm gradually getting the desk organisd. I must think about how I could use those marbles photos. They were so beautiful.

So is it just that the Seth Apter colours are exclusive or is there something else to the embossing powders? will look forward to seeing. So glad you enjoyed the workshop weekend, i’m With you on the favourite piece and I totally admire your patience with the altered book, that wouldn’t have gone so well for me! LOVE the duck.

Morning Helen. Friday already - sorry! Looking at all your photos this week - I reckon I like the heart with the key best... But you certainly sound as though you had an amazing time away! Well done on all you achieved. I had a good time with Mr and Mrs D - they are glad to be on their boat again, and have now set off on their travels across England. Teehee - I certainly won't be making ALL those bags myself - we have a great group of folks who each make some. I simply cut them out and make a few!
Take care. God bless.
